Memstill – Desalination Innovation

As co-initiator and coordinator, EMF has been involved with the TNO –Memstill project on a new ecologically, economically and technological sound desalination innovation since 1997.  This research and development program was supported by the Dutch Government and 9 partners including Technical University Twente and 6 industrial companies. In 2005, three semi-commercial prototypes were available for testing at industrial sites.

In 2007 after successfully testing pilots in Singapore and the Netherlands the consortium closed the project development phase. Since 2008, two consortium members 'Seghers Keppel' and 'Water Technology Holland' signed a royalty agreement with the consortium to manufacure and market the Memstill technology world wide.
