The Ecological Management Foundation (EMF) and Micro Water Facility (MWF) are two independently operating organisations which seek to improve access to clean drinking water and sanitation in developing countries. EMF and MWF work closely together and share a large number of core values. Both organisations target small-scale initiatives with high impact potential.

EMF

EMF is dedicated to bringing clean water and sanitation facilities within the reach of the poor deprived of these. EMF identifies, promotes and incubates small scale projects that are innovative, practical, solution-oriented, and promise to have a broad impact in the target country.

MWF

MWF helps Dutch entrepreneurs and enterprising organisations launch innovational, small-scale technologies that improve access to clean drinking water and proper sanitation in developing countries in Asia and Africa. MWF focuses on Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and India, Bangladesh and Indonesia.

Natural extension

EMF and MWF complement each other. Once EMF has incubated an initiative and enlisted the cooperation of partner organisations, MWF steps in and provides business development support.

Sharing efficient

Their shared projects have led the EMF and MWF to progressively harmonise their policies and to share staff. This has also permitted the two organisations to operate more effectively and efficiently.

EMF and MWF's activites are complementary and run full circle.
